Watkins starts construction on The Station at Hamlin

Orlando, Fla. / Atlanta, Ga. – June 8, 2026 – Watkins Real Estate Group, a leading Southeast developer of multifamily and grocery-anchored retail properties, today announced the start of construction on The Station at Hamlin, a 373-unit Class A multifamily community in the highly desirable Hamlin Town Center district of Horizon West.

The project is located on approximately 16 acres near the intersection of Avalon Road and the Lake Hamlin Trail extension, offering residents direct access to premier retail, dining, entertainment, a growing medical hub, and top-rated schools within one of Central Florida’s fastest-growing master-planned communities.

Designed by Charlan Brock Architects, The Station at Hamlin features a village-style layout with 13 residential buildings—including four 4-story elevator-served buildings, one 3-story building, and eight carriage-unit buildings. Watkins secured a $69.5 million construction loan from SouthState Bank to fund the development, following its acquisition of the site earlier this year. General contractor Batson Cook is mobilizing on site, with the clubhouse and first units expected in summer 2027 and full completion in 2028.

The Station at Hamlin represents Watkins’ continued expansion in Central Florida multifamily, building on the successful delivery and sale of its prior Lake Nona project.
